Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink Signage Design
Summary
I designed over 25 individual signs ranging in size from 35 feet wide to 3 inches wide for the Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink. To account for them being unprotected outside at an ice rink for three winter months, I took an active role in their production, working with our printer to determine the best substrate for every sign. Additionally, I designed various print and digital advertisements and collaborated with media sponsors to effectively promote this community event, targeting local families.

My Favorite Sign: The Acrylic Calendar
Each sign had its own unique design challenges, and the challenge with this calendar was finding a substrate that would hold up outside for the winter and could have easily changed information.
The Events Manager requested a calendar where she could display information about upcoming events at the rink. Working with our printer, we decided to use acrylic for the base calendar and window clings for changeable information. The beauty with the acrylic base is that dry erase markers can also be used to add any information quickly without needing to print more window clings.
